Residential solar and battery systems
Most homes do not need the biggest system. They need the right one, designed around which loads matter, when the household actually uses power and what the roof and switchboard allow.

Runtime depends on what you run, for how long and the state of charge when the grid fails. We design to a stated target, not to an unlimited promise.
Start with the loads that matter
Before we specify equipment we work out what the house needs to keep running and what can wait. Lights, plugs, internet, alarm, fridge and a gate motor behave very differently from a geyser, a pool pump, an oven or underfloor heating.
That split is the single biggest driver of cost. Backing up the essentials is a modest system. Running the whole house through an outage, including heavy loads, is a substantially larger one. We show you both, with the trade-offs written down.
Power and energy are two separate decisions
Inverter capacity decides how much can run at the same time. Battery capacity decides how long it can run. A 5 kVA inverter with 5 kWh of storage behaves nothing like a 5 kVA inverter with 20 kWh, and neither is automatically correct.
We size the two against your measured or estimated load profile, then explain where each rand goes.
Design the foundation for later phases
Households add loads over time. An electric vehicle, a heat pump, a new wing or a second battery all change the picture. Where the architecture allows it we set up the distribution, cabling and inverter capacity so a later addition is an extension rather than a rebuild.

Installation you can inspect
Routing, labelling, protection and mounting are part of the engineering, not finishing touches. Clean boards are safer to work on, easier to fault-find and far easier to expand.

Common questions
- How long will a battery run my essential loads?
- It depends on the size of the battery and the load you place on it. A 5 kWh usable battery carrying a 500 W essential load will last far longer than the same battery carrying a 2 kW load. We design to a runtime target you choose and state the assumptions behind it.
- Can I add panels or batteries later?
- Often yes, if the inverter, cabling and distribution were designed with headroom. It is one of the questions we answer during the assessment, because the decision is much cheaper to make before installation than after.
- Will solar eliminate my electricity bill?
- Not usually. Fixed municipal charges, night-time import and seasonal variation mean most homes reduce grid consumption rather than remove it. We model the reduction rather than promise a zero bill.
