Maintain

Maintenance, diagnostics and optimisation

Energy systems are outdoor electrical installations in a coastal environment. Connections loosen, panels soil, firmware ages and settings drift away from what the site actually needs.

Why coastal sites need this more

Salt air is hard on outdoor electrical equipment. It accelerates corrosion at terminations, on mounting hardware and around enclosures that are not properly sealed.

A West Coast installation that is never inspected will usually show its age sooner than the same installation inland.

Optimisation is not always new hardware

Systems are often set up correctly for how a property was used at installation, then left alone while the household or the business changes around them.

Reviewing charge thresholds, schedules and load priorities against current use frequently recovers real performance without buying anything.

Systems installed by others

We assess and work on systems we did not install. Sometimes that means a repair, sometimes an expansion and sometimes an honest report that the existing installation is sound and needs nothing.

Where we find work that is unsafe we will say so plainly and set out what it would take to put right.

Questions

Common questions

Can Bay Solar inspect or improve another installer's system?
Yes. We assess what is installed, report on its condition and set out practical options, whether that is a repair, a settings change, an expansion or leaving it as it is.
How often should a system be serviced?
It depends on the site, the equipment and how exposed the installation is. We will recommend an interval for your specific installation rather than applying a blanket rule.

Next step

Start with an assessment.

Tell us how the property is used and what you want it to do. We come out, work through the site and put the reasoning in writing.
