Privacy notice

This notice describes what Bay Solar (Pty) Ltd collects through baysolar.co.za and what we do with it. It does not cover information you give us in person, by telephone or as part of a signed contract, which is governed by our commercial terms.

If you complete the enquiry form we collect your name, email address, town, an optional telephone number and whatever you write in the message field. We also record whether the enquiry is about a home or a business and what kind of help you are after.

We do not run advertising trackers on this site and we do not sell or share enquiry details with third parties for marketing.

To reply to your enquiry, arrange a site visit where relevant and prepare a proposal. That is the only purpose. We ask for your explicit consent on the form before storing anything.

Enquiries that do not become projects are removed once they are no longer commercially relevant. Where an enquiry becomes a project, the details form part of the job record and are retained as long as we support the installation, and thereafter as required for tax and legal purposes.

Where we monitor a system we have installed, that data describes your property and your habits. We treat it accordingly. We will tell you what is collected, where it is held and who can see it, and you can ask us to explain or change the access arrangement at any point.

We do not publish customer monitoring data or identifiable monitoring screenshots.

Under the Protection of Personal Information Act you can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it and ask us to delete it. Write to us and we will action it.
