Installation and commissioning

Neatness is not cosmetic. Clear routing, correct protection and honest labelling make a system safer to work on, easier to fault-find and far cheaper to extend.

Planning the disruption

We agree the changeover window before we start. On most homes the supply is down for a matter of hours rather than a day, and we tell you which of those hours matter.

On commercial sites that cannot lose power during trading, we phase the work so the site stays live and the switchover happens outside operating hours.

The parts you will never see

DC cabling is the part of a solar installation most often done badly, and it is also the part that carries the most risk. Correct sizing, correct isolation, correct routing and correct protection matter more than anything visible from the driveway.

The same applies to labelling. A board that tells the next person what it does is a safety feature.

Commissioning and handover

Commissioning is where the system is proved rather than assumed. We test the transfer behaviour, confirm the protection operates, verify the generation and check the monitoring is reporting correctly.

Then we sit down with you and go through it. What the display means, what normal looks like, what to do if something trips and who to call.

Common questions

What documentation will I receive after installation?
A record of the installed system, the equipment fitted and the commissioning results, together with a photographic record. Confirm the exact document pack with us when you accept the proposal.
How long does an installation take?
A straightforward residential backup system is usually a day or two. A larger hybrid installation with an array takes longer, and a phased commercial project is scheduled around your operations.
