Energy assessment and system design
The assessment is where the money is either well spent or wasted. Every later decision, from inverter size to the number of panels, follows from what we establish here.
What we look at
We start with your electricity account and the way the property is actually used. Twelve months of billing shows seasonal shape. A conversation shows which loads are negotiable and which are not.
On site we check the roof planes, pitch, orientation, shading through the day and structural condition. We look at the distribution board, the incoming supply, earthing and whether the existing installation is sound enough to build on.
How the design follows
Generation, storage, inverter capacity and protection are sized together. Raising one without the others produces a system that is unbalanced and usually disappointing.
We write down the assumptions behind every number, so that if your circumstances differ from what we assumed, you can see exactly which part of the design changes.
What you should have ready
Recent electricity accounts are the most useful thing you can bring, ideally covering a full year. Beyond that, an idea of which loads you would miss most during an outage and any plans for the property that might add demand later.

- What does Bay Solar assess before quoting?
- Your consumption pattern, your essential loads, the roof and site conditions, the state of the existing electrical installation and any plans that will change demand later. The design follows from those findings.
- Do I have to accept the design you propose?
- No. The proposal sets out the reasoning and the assumptions so you can evaluate it, adjust the scope or take it elsewhere for comparison.
